Teachers Notes - Why? How? What? |
|||
Why we like this activity …. Students always enjoy games and this activity encourages students to talk about their work. How this activity be used …. Students should be understand plans and elevations. I recommend http://www.fi.uu.nl/wisweb/en/ for practice with this (there is at least an hour of fun to be had with this and this (building with 3 sides) if your students have access to computers). The first part of this activity ensures that students are comfortable with drawing 3D shapes on isometric paper. What to expect when using this activity – from our experience Some excellent discussion when the shape drawn could represent the plan and elevation but is not the shape the other player was thinking about!
