Teachers Notes - Why? How? What?

Why we like this activity ….

I love the chance to get mathematics outside and to get students moving around to solve problems!
This activity ticks all of those boxes and provides an excellent introduction to the idea of Loci!

How this activity be used ….

Most recently, we have done this by combining classes and setting them against each other as teams!
The extra element of competition adds an exciting edge! Depending on the space you have and the
number of students, my preference is not to have students reading or writing while they are
investigating and then get it down on paper when they are back in the classroom

What to expect when using this activity – from our experience

The unexpected! I usually get a question that I was not expecting!
